Microsoft competitor Softalk, which specialises in email and collaboration software for small and medium size businesses, has been independently ranked as the UK’s 8th fastest growing software company in the 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK and Ireland. It is also the UK’s 35th fastest growing technology company overall.
Softalk joint CEO Simon Bates said: “The software market for small and medium size businesses is growing far faster than that for large corporations and enterprises. Softalk is in an ideal position to exploit the growth because we develop software specifically for small and medium size businesses whereas our competitors simply offer cut-down or restricted versions of expensive enterprise products. Softalk recently released a new free version of the OfficeTalk workgroup collaboration software that enables small and medium size businesses and organisations to share calendars, contacts, email, planners, projects, meetings and documents.
