An interesting story on BusinessWeek warns of the dangers for family run businesses of family members getting together over Christmas and then spending the time talking about work. Don't fall into the trap of allowing your family Christmas to turn into a board meeting. Take a break from what you do for 70 hours per week, let your hair down, relax and have a great family Christmas.

I grew up in a family business and it was hard for my dad not to talk about business at the dinner table. I hear these type of stories all the time in my video biography business. But in the end, the family remembers fondly of the founders leaving their advice and values and ethics. Today's family businesses don't eat around the table anymore, so a lot of them are getting video biographies done on the founders, so the future generations will be able to hear the advice and wisdom in the founders own words.
